Red Devils skipper, Wayne Rooney is back in training with the team after missing several weeks of football due to a knee injury. Head coach Louis van Gaal heaps praises on the striker for his impressive performance during training. He said the English forward always gives his all in matches and training. Wayne Rooney has been involved in two training sessions with the team this week.  He was reported to be on the goal scorers’ chart during the first session at the Aon Training Complex, to delight of the Coaches.

LVG happily boasted: “He scored a goal – he made a fantastic shot, a chip over the goalkeeper. It was his first training session! He can be so good that I shall be forced to give him a position in the team but it is dependable on what we are seeing [each day].”

When asked if the hairy skipper would return for the FA cup replay against west Ham, LVG asked the journalists to wait until the game to know. Manchester United U21 will play Middleborough U21 on Monday, 11th April.

“He is now coming out of rehabilitation and has only trained two times with us, so we cannot yet predict how his injury evolved. We have to wait and see how the game against Middleborough goes. We are communicating every day [about how he is feeling with his recovery] and he knows also my philosophy which everybody knows. We communicate every day with the doctor, with the player and we make a plan. It is not hard because I do that with every player and Wayne is very open for me,” LVG said.

The 30-year old player will be selected for the reserves during the U21 match. Continue Reading

Barcelona’s biggest liability lies in their defence and it just suffered a blow

Luis Suarez, Neymar, Lionel Messi and Iniesta are the main attacking figures of Barcelona and having all of these superstars in his squad it doesn’t seem like scoring goals will be a problem for the Spanish squad but the defensive section of the team is a different story.

The strength of Barcelona has never been their defence and it has sustained a huge blow after Gerard Pique received a red card due to the rants that he made during the Spanish Super Cup and Pique now has to serve a 4 match ban.

Aleix Vidal is not able to play until 2016 and the Brazilian right-back Douglas is out of action due to an injury.  Luis Enrique still has enough defensive options at his disposal including the likes of: Dani Alves, Javier Mascherano, Marc Bartra, Jordi Alba and Thomas Vermaelen but some of them have recently been struggling their pre-season.

Dani Alves and Marc Bartra have made defensive mistakes in the pre-season schedule of Barcelona.

During the opening match of the season, Barcelona faced off with Athletic Club and a lonely goal from Luis Suarez was enough for the team of Luis Enrique to seal the triumph. Continue Reading

The spirit of England is at an all-time high according to Rooney

Wayne Rooney has been performing for the English national football team since the age of 17 as he started his career at the international stage on February of 2003 during a friendly match against Australia and from there on out Rooney has become the most important player for his national side as the player has scored 48 goals and the attacker is the captain of England as well.

Things in England have not been going so well in these past few years as the English national side was eliminated from the 2014 World Cup in the group stages and it was a disastrous period of time as England failed on winning a single match of this international tournament.

Roy Hodgson has been attempting to restore the English team and it seems like it’s working out as his team has been claiming successive wins in the 2016 Euro’s qualifiers and according to Wayne Rooney, the spirit of the team is as high as ever.

Hodgson has pinpointed Rooney’s contribution as a bridge between the younger and older generations and the striker is encouraged by the atmosphere in the squad. Continue Reading

Wayne Rooney is happy about his Position on Pitch

Manchester United’s star striker Wayne Rooney says that he is happy to let Louis van Gaal decide his position on the pitch. The United manager recently moaned about the lack of a striker who can score 20 goals a season.

This was despite having the likes of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, and Radamel Falcao in his team. Even though Rooney has scored more than 20 goals in a season in the past, he has largely been inconsistent. However, this has been attributed to playing in a number of positions from the pitch. Even now, van Gaal has been utilising Rooney in a midfield position.

This has led to a minor goal drought for the England international, but the recent switch to a striking position has been excellent for the player. The 29-year-old has taken his tally for the season to 13 from 25 matches. Rather than complain about the inability to play against a striker, Rooney says that he is happy to let van Gaal dictate his role on the field. After being criticised for his negative and long ball tactics, Van Gaal is starting to feel settled at United and he has taken the team into touching distance of arch rivals Manchester City. Wayne Rooney boosting confidence in Fans

Wayne Rooney seems to have gained the support and confidence of fans or at least the coach of Manchester United as the Englishman a few months ago was named as the captain of the Premier League club as he succeeded NemanjaVidic. Rooney is also the captain of the English national football team.

Despite having received a number of red cards when performing for England as well as making questionable performances for his country, Rooney was selected by David Moyes as the new captain of England after Steven Gerrard announced his retirement from playing at the international stage.

Rooney started playing and representing England at the age of 17 during a match between England and Holland where he managed to make his first goal for his country and from there on out Rooney kicked off his international career with England which has already seen him making over 95 appearances.

The former coach of the England youth team for the 2002 Under-17 European Championship team Dick Bate revealed details that occurred during this tournament that many people might not know concerning Wayne Rooney and something that the 17 years old English forward did.

On the day that England was eliminated from the tournament and the English squad was gathered together during their last meal before returning to their respective clubs and homeland, Dick Bate stated that Wayne Rooney took the chance to express his devotion towards England as he recited a poem which was titled; ‘’ When Saturday Comes’’.

The contents of the poem has not been revealed by Dick Bate but according to the former coach, he and the squad were surprised by how this 17 year old player displayed his love for England and it was an event that Bate will never forget.

“I think it took most of the group aback. Here was a young boy just expressing his love for England in the best format and most succinct manner he could. I have never seen anyone stand up and do that before. I will never forget it.” Dick Bate said.
