Chelsea takes on Tottenham on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge in what promises to be a classic. Both clubs have different agenda at this point of the season as the Blues look to claw their way back into the top 4, while Tottenham would be hoping to salvage their faint title hopes.

Chelsea season was summarized in the League Cup defeat against Manchester City. The team played well and neutralized the Champions but a moment of indiscipline on the part of stopper KepaArrizabalaga overshadowed the good performance.

Chelsea have played beautiful football at times this season but a lack of consistency has played the Sarri’s men.  Tottenham on the other side have flattered to deceive all through the season and showed that four years into coach Pochettino tenure they look no closer to a trophy.

Last week defeat away at Burnley laid all to bear as Spurs were poor on the day leading to an uncharacteristic outburst from Pochettino.  The Argentine tactician as charged by the FA but should be on the dugout for the game.

Chelsea’s danger man remains Eden Hazard the Belgium star has carried the team at times this season while Kante was impressive in the League Cup final on Sunday. Tottenham have Harry Kane back from injury and firing as he scored in the defeat to Burnley. South Korean captain Son Heung-min has emerged as a key player in recent weeks and was instrumental in the defeat against Chelsea in November.

We expect the match to be cagey in the opening half but to burst into life in the second half depending on the team that grabs the first goal.

Prediction. Chelsea should have too much for Tottenham and we expect a close victory : Chelsea 2-1
